Guidelines and Expectations for Members

Please sign the Acknowledgement of Guidelines and Waiver of Liability and bring it with you on your first visit.

Update as of June 19:

  • Springdale Club is permitted to have 120 people at the pool at any given time. At this time, we do not see a need to have an advance reservation system. This will be evaluated daily and adjusted as needed. We will communicate to members via Facebook throughout the day with updates regarding attendance and capacity limitations at the pool
  • Per CDC and WHO guidelines, masks are required at the following times:

                 a. When entering and exiting the property;

                 b. When using the restrooms

                 c. When ordering at the snack bar

  • Masks are recommended, but not required, when not physically in the pool, and should never be worn while in the water.

  • Children under the age of 2 are never required to wear a mask; parents or guardians must make a reasonable effort to ensure children between the ages of 2 and 8 wear a mask per the guidelines.

  • Each member of the family must be checked in and out each visit.  All members will be asked to wait at the front desk until they are checked in by a staff member.  Social distancing must be maintained while waiting to enter or exit the pool grounds.

  • Parents or guardians must be present the first time any member under the age of 18 is entering the pool in order to sign and submit paperwork.

  • In order to adhere to capacity limitations, and for the comfort of our members, guests will not be permitted until further notice.

HOURS OF OPERATION:

  • Mondays through Thursdays, from 11am – 8pm and Fridays through Sundays, 11am – 9pm.

  • Depending on capacity and staffing capabilities, these hours may be modified during the course of the season.

CHILDREN, BABYSITTERS, & BABY POOL

  • Parents or guardians must be present the FIRST time any member under the age of 18 is entering the pool in order to sign and submit paperwork (waiver and acknowledgement of guidelines).

  • Once the waiver and acknowledgement of guidelines is submitted, children 13 and older may come to the club without parental supervision.

  • Babysitters: with the submission of a completed babysitter contract by member, babysitters ages 15 and older may supervise children under the age of 8. If a child is between ages 8 and 12, they may be supervised by a babysitter who is at least 13 years old.

  • Baby Pool: will be open with a very limited capacity; no more than 15 in the enclosed baby area. Please be cognizant of others waiting, and keep to a reasonable time in the baby area. This simple gesture will help us not need to institute reservations for the baby area.

SOCIAL DISTANCING:

  • Members must maintain 6 feet social distancing, in and out of the pool, between those not part of their family unit.

  • Events, group gatherings, and parties will not be permitted until further notice.  In order to be fair to all our members, the pool will be CLOSED on the Fourth of July.

  • As long as social distancing guidelines are in effect, children 15 years and younger must be accompanied and supervised by an adult while at the pool.

  • A limited number of chairs will be provided to guests and will be disinfected at least twice daily.  Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs.  To allow for social distancing, chairs will be set up on the grass only.

  • Personal umbrellas may not be staked in the grass. Members may bring their own pop-up canopies, but any such structures must be taken down and removed when the member leaves the pool for the day.

  • Any tents or chairs left overnight on pool grounds will be taken down and placed in lost and found.

  • In the event of a thunderstorm, or other temporary pool evacuation, members will be asked to wait in their cars, or outside of the pool grounds to allow for social distancing.  Members may not congregate under the lower pavilion.

SNACK BAR

  • The snack bar will be open on a limited basis, and will only be serving pre-packaged snacks, bottled water, and sodas.

  • Snack bar workers will be trained and will follow all COVID-19 guidelines established by the Baltimore County Department of Health.

  • Social distancing and limited use of the lower pavilion will need to be maintained at all times.

  • Water coolers will not be provided by the pool.

HEALTH, SAFETY and SANITATION MEASURES

  • Per the CDC, “there is no evidence that the virus that causes COVID-19 can be spread to people through the water in [swimming pools]. Additionally, proper operation of these aquatic venues and disinfection of the water (with chlorine or bromine) should inactivate the virus.”  While there is no evidence that the virus that causes COVID-19 can be spread to people through the water in pools, there are no guarantees that transmission cannot occur and members with concerns or who are at high-risk should consult with a  physician before making the decision to visit the pool.

  • All staff will be trained to self-monitor for symptoms and will be asked to stay home should they fall sick.

  • Hand Sanitizer will be available at various stations throughout the pool grounds.

  • All members are encouraged to shower prior to entering the pool and to wash their hands frequently.

  • Pool furniture, ladders, railings, and bathrooms will be sanitized at least twice daily.

  • In order to allow proper social distancing, the ping pong table and basketball courts will be closed until further notice.

  • Members who are exhibiting symptoms, have been exposed to COVID-19, or believe to have been exposed to COVID-19 or a presumptive case of COVID-19, should not go to the pool.  All members are asked to self-report if they have symptoms of COVID-19, a positive test for COVID-19, or were exposed to someone with COVID-19 within the last 14 days. The Board will notify staff and members (as feasible) of potential COVID-19 exposures while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
